A Japanese zoo in Shizuoka has built a transparent glass pool for its resident elephants.
The purpose of the pool is to allow visitors to observe the elephants swimming and how they use their trunks to breath while their head is under water.

3

The pool at the Fuji Safari Park, measures 65 meters length and according to the zoo, its inhabitants swim up to 4 laps a day. Officials say the elephants eat more after swimming.

Once you’re there, be sure to check out the rest of the park as well.
Situated at the foot of Mount Fuji, Fuji Safari Park is home to a large number of animals that live there freely. The park lets you observe the animals either from your own car or from one of the the park busses.

4

The Jungle bus allows you to get very close to the animals and even feed them.
